primeCROWD & ISPO Networking Night 2020

There is already a trade fair highlight in Munich in January. The ISPO is the largest international trade fair for the sports business, which is actually reserved for trade visitors and sports professionals. But of course we at primeCROWD also wanted to present the latest and most exciting concepts of the sports industry to our investors - and therefore invited to a joint networking night.

As early as autumn 2019, primeCROWD sat on the jury of the ISPO Brandnew Award.

The world's largest competition for startups in the sports industry honours the most innovative products with real market relevance every year. From more than 400 submissions, the nine-member ISPO Brandnew Jury selected the 2020 winners in extensive meetings and test processes. all brands from the sports business that are not older than four years at the time of the trade fair and have never been listed as exhibitors at ISPO Munich were eligible to apply for the Brandnew Award. 

On Sunday, January 26th the winners of the eight different categories (Body+Mind, Connected Sports, Future Mobility, Matchtime, Offshore, Outtdoor Adventure, Slopes&Parks, Urban Outdoor) were presented to the audience. And of course, the nominated startups also had the chance to present themselves at their booths in the ISPO Brandnew Area and to meet potential investors at our exclusive network event and make them curious.

As a member of the jury, Tina Umbach gave an insight into the selection process on stage at the start of the event. What was striking this year was that the topic of sustainability was a common thread running through all categories.

The top newcomer was the overall winner and founder Joerg Tragatschnig from EXOlung, before the most important part of the evening, networking, was introduced. In the exclusive and closed-off area, there were eight theme tables according to the categories, where start-ups and investors got together and quickly got into conversation. Some products were shown and tried out in an exemplary fashion, information was provided, talked about and inspired - and of course, a toast was given to all prize winners and participants.
