Success Story

primeCROWD is now Austria's largest start-up investor network. Now the startup is expanding to Germany, to Prinzregentenstrasse in Munich.

The starting signal was given on 14.2. primeCROWD was launched in mid-February at a kick-off event in the design offices (Highlight Towers) above the rooftops of Munich. Around 180 guests celebrated primeCROWD's entry into the German start-up ecosystem and used the evening for networking. Markus Koblmüller from TeamEcho and the Berlin pitch doctor Christoph Sollich inspired the guests with their presentations. Afterwards there was a strong celebration.

Network in Germany primeCROWD has already successfully provided 18 start-ups with capital and brokered investments of more than eight million Euros since its foundation in December 2015. Now the network, which includes around 1,000 investors and 200 incubators, accelerators and VCs, is to be expanded to include contacts and projects in Germany.

Advantages for start-ups and investors "We arrange investments for early-stage and growth financing with a volume of between 100,000 and 1,500,000 euros. In addition, we provide start-ups with our know-how in an advisory capacity," explains networking expert and business coach Svenja Lassen, who will head the Munich office together with Tina Umbach (ex-Media-Saturn manager and co-founder of stilrad) as Managing Director. The special thing: Start-ups finance themselves through primeCROWD in the form of equity investments. This distinguishes the network from existing crowd investing platforms. "Investors can take direct entrepreneurial stakes and open up a new asset class with start-up investments," adds Tina Umbach.

Goals for Germany Germany has a start-up ecosystem with around 6,000 young entrepreneurs, 3,000 business angels and more than 110 venture capital firms. "There is a high demand to bring together talent and capital through innovative forms of equity investment", comments Markus Kainz, founder and Chief Executive Officer of primeCROWD. "We see great potential here, particularly in the FinTech, CleanTech, HealthTech, IT and software sectors".
